Sydney, Australia – Leading international architecture and design firm, ThomsonAdsett, has designed a retirement living village for arts patrons, claimed to be the first of its kind in Australia. 

The Streeton Park development is a short walk from the Heide Museum of Modern Art and overlooks the Yarra River. The precinct is a long-established creative hub for the arts community in Melbourne.The recently completed $40 million project accommodates 85 premium independent living apartments, alongside a business centre, fine dining restaurant, sports bar, salon and wellness centre. 

ThomsonAdsett Studio Leader for Victoria Tieran Kimber, said the development indicates the growing need to design for varied lifestyles and interests. “There is no other retirement living village that caters specifically to arts patrons, and it has been keenly awaited here in Melbourne,” said Mr Kimber.

“We’ve seen a growing demand for high-end apartment living as a model for future aged care facilities. “Streeton Park is designed for the innovators of Melbourne, and Australia. We have very carefully curated every detail from artwork to light fittings, to appeal to those passionate about creativity,” he added.

The spaces are designed for maximum socialisation and activity, while providing resting points for residents with low mobility. Streeton Park was designed in collaboration with Jacobsen Projects (Interior Design).
