Global construction company Bouygues Construction has appointed Pascal Minault as its chairman and CEO. He will replace Philippe Bonnave, who joins Bouygues SA to work alongside senior management on construction matters.

\n\n

Mr Minault joined the Bouygues Group in 1986 and spent the first part of his career at Bouygues Travaux Publics, working on major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and France. In 1998, he joined Entreprises France-Europe, a Bouygues Construction entity comprising construction activities in France (outside the Paris region) and in Western Europe, as director of civil works for Norpac – Bouygues Belgium.

\n\n

In 2002, Mr Minault became CEO of Bouygues UK in London, where he continued the development of the PPP (public-private partnership) business activity in health, education and housing.

\n\n

In 2008, Mr Minault was appointed as CEO of Losinger Marazzi, Bouygues Construction’s Swiss subsidiary, where he focused on property development and eco-neighbourhoods. In early 2015, he was named CEO of Bouygues Entreprises France-Europe.

\n\n

Mr Minault served as chairman of Bouygues Immobilier in 2019 before returning to Bouygues Construction where he has been CEO since 1 July 2021.

\n\n

Bouygues Construction is active globally, with 58,000 employees in more than 60 countries. The group designs, builds and operates projects in the sectors of building, civil works and energies, and services.

Bouygues Construction and Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies have signed a collaboration agreement for an initial period of 30 months, which aim to devise and test concrete formulas using a new cement manufactured with the technology known as H-EVA1.

\n\n

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies has developed this innovative technology and the company said it offers a carbon footprint between 70% and 80% lower than a conventional Portland cement.

\n\n

The partnership between both parties constitutes a strategic alliance, which will contribute to making the construction sector more responsible and more sustainable, given the fact that cement reportedly accounts for 6% of greenhouse gas emissions in France.

\n\n

Studies jointly carried out by the partners will make it possible to obtain the certifications needed for operational implementation on Bouygues Construction sites in 2020.

\n\n

Bouygues Construction is a global player in construction, with operations in more than 60 countries. The company has also been active in the Asian market. “As a leading player in the construction sector, Bouygues Construction needs to meet the challenges of growing urbanisation while reducing its environmental impact,” said Philippe Bonnave, chairman and chief executive of Bouygues Construction.

To meet these challenges, we have created new cements guaranteed to be clinker-free and based on industrial by-products.
