New coastal urban area under development in Can Gio, Vietnam

Vinhomes is developing Vinhomes Green Paradise, a 2,870-ha ESG++ coastal urban area in Can Gio, southeastern Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The masterplan rests on two pillars, shared the developer. First, new transport infrastructure is expected to shorten journeys to the city centre: the Ben Thanh–Can Gio high-speed railway is designed to connect the area with downtown in about 20 minutes, while the proposed Can Gio Bridge and the widening of Rung Sac Boulevard aim to cut driving times to about 35 minutes.

Second, an on-site ecosystem comprising schools, a hospital, office space and parks, is intended to place most daily needs within reach of home.

The Ben Thanh-Can Gio high-speed railway, developed by Vingroup subsidiary VinSpeed, will run for about 54 km with a maximum design speed of 350 km/hr, said Vinhomes. Construction began in December 2025, with commercial operation targeted for the fourth quarter of 2028. The line will connect Ben Thanh station in central Ho Chi Minh City with Vinhomes Green Paradise.

Meanwhile, the Can Gio Bridge, scheduled to open in 2029, will replace the Binh Khanh ferry crossing. Rung Sac Boulevard, the main artery serving the area, is being widened to up to 10 lanes. Once complete, the two options are expected to give residents a choice between rail for direct trips to the city centre and road travel for journeys with multiple stops.

In addition, Vinhomes Green Paradise is planned to bring education, healthcare, workplaces, retail and recreation within the community. According to the developer, key components will include 104 proposed schools, Vinmec Can Gio International General Hospital, more than 2 million sq m of office space, as well as more than 370 parks and green areas.
