In recent years, China has continued to advance urban infrastructure, smart construction, and “quality homes”, with safety, comfort, sustainability, and smart features as core standards for residential development. This direction has not only accelerated the building industry’s shift towards digitalisation, industrialisation, and low‑carbon practices, but has also intensified the need for seamless technology integration across the entire industry chain.

In 2025, Guangdong’s construction sector neared USD 371 billion in output value, making it the second‑largest in the country. Beyond traditional developers and contractors, the province has also built a strong base of tech-driven manufacturing and design firms. Government policies are now pushing this network to scale prefabricated construction, modular building, prefabricated renovations, construction robotics, AI-driven engineering management, and low-carbon building systems.

Against this backdrop, Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd and Guangzhou Zongheng Construction Technology Exhibition Co Ltd have teamed up to collaboratively run CCTE Build+, showcasing the latest technologies, solutions, and applications across the building and construction sector. The event will be held alongside the 24th and 32nd editions of the Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT) and Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE), respectively.

Within this portfolio, the Guangzhou-based GEBT and GILE shows have a proven track record across the lighting, home automation, and low‑carbon intelligent building sectors. CCTE Build+ is a welcome addition, broadening the scope to cover architectural design, mechanical and electrical engineering, and integrated systems under one roof. Ultimately, these platforms will collectively enable exhibitors to connect with high-level clients from the operations and management, construction, and development sectors.

A specialised hub for engineering-focused smart construction
Under the theme “Empowering quality homes”, CCTE Build+ 2027 will showcase innovative products and solutions across its four key pillars:

• Comfort Residential Solutions: Supportive “quality homes” solutions, elderly‑friendly renovations, residential mechanical and electrical systems, as well as residential management and maintenance services
• Prefabricated, Modular, and Urban Renewal Projects: Modular building systems, prefabricated components, and integrated mechanical and electrical solutions, whole‑house prefabricated finishing, integrated urban renewal technologies, and fenestration and facade systems
• Smart Construction and Digital Engineering: Smart site-management systems, smart construction equipment, building information modelling (BIM) applications, and digital engineering tools
• New Building Materials: Environmentally friendly building materials that are efficient while remaining safe and reliable throughout their entire life cycle

CCTE Build+ will be held with the support of several leading industry associations, including the Guangdong Building Materials Association (GBMA), the Guangdong New Building Materials Industry Alliance, the Guangdong Association of Green Low-Carbon Building (GAGLB), the Guangdong Provincial Construction Sustainable & Prefabricated Industry Association (GDCSDA), and the Guangdong Ceramics Association (GCA). Together, these parties will establish the exhibition as an end-to-end platform spanning product showcases, knowledge exchange, business matchmaking, policy insights, and industry-academia-research collaboration.

The fair is expected to welcome decision-makers across property development, construction, design firms, urban infrastructure, industrial parks, and overseas infrastructure projects to source solutions.

Three shows, one united ecosystem
The synergy between the three exhibitions will create a one-stop industry exchange and trade platform that facilitates high‑quality development across the Greater Bay Area, seamlessly bridging regional supply with global demand.

CCTE Build+ will cover front-end construction technology, building equipment, digital operations and maintenance, and low-carbon systems. At the same time, GEBT and GILE will lead the building automation, home automation, and lighting sectors. CCTE Build+ is expected to host nearly 100 exhibitors across approximately 10,000 sqm of exhibiting space at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from 9–12 June 2027.
