Siemens has unveiled its new Acend Intelligent notification portfolio, transforming traditional fire safety into a connected, digital solution. The new portfolio shifts fire safety notification from a reactive function to a data-driven, operationally integrated system that enhances safety while minimizing operational disruptions. It marks a significant technological milestone on the path toward human-centric autonomous buildings.
In environments where uninterrupted operations are essential, such as healthcare, hospitality, commercial real estate, and data centers, fire safety notification systems must operate reliably without causing unnecessary disruption. Acend Intelligent addresses this need with integrated Disturbance-Free Testing (DFT) technology, enabling system checks without triggering audible or visual alarms.
Each device, from horns and strobes to speakers and combination audible-visual appliances, can be individually monitored and activated. This enables facility managers and fire safety technicians to verify the operational status of every device, identify faults more quickly, and remotely assess system readiness across connected devices, reducing the need for time-consuming physical inspections.
The portfolio also features built-in Class X isolation technology, which maintains system operation even in the event of wiring faults by isolating affected sections while allowing the remainder of the system to continue functioning. Through integration with Siemens’ cloud-based Building X Fire Apps, a suite of monitoring and diagnostic applications, personnel can perform remote testing, anticipate maintenance requirements, and reduce manual effort, helping ensure safe and efficient building operations.
"As buildings become increasingly connected and digitalized, safety systems must evolve alongside them. With Acend Intelligent, we are transforming fire notification into a foundational technology for these next-generation environments by combining cloud connectivity, real-time data, and digital integration," said Peter Nebiker, Head of Fire Safety at Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings.
The Acend Intelligent portfolio is also designed with resource efficiency and circularity in mind, incorporating recycled materials into its construction. It carries the Siemens EcoTech environmental product performance label, providing greater transparency on its sustainability credentials. The portfolio is designed for and available in markets that follow UL certification standards, including the United States, Canada, and selected markets across Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.
