Radisson Hotel Group signs landmark Radisson Blu hotel in Shanghai Stadium, Xujiahui Sports Park

Shanghai, China – Radisson Hotel Group has announced a partnership with JUSS Sports to operate and manage the fourth Radisson Blu property in Shanghai – an upper upscale hotel located in the downtown area. Scheduled to open in the second half of 2024, the 209-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Shanghai Stadium will be located at Xujiahui Sports Park, a world-class sporting and cultural complex that covers nearly 360,000 square metres in surface area (250,000 square metres in built area) and includes Shanghai Stadium, Shanghai Indoor Stadium, Shanghai Swimming Center, and the "Wantihui" complex, making it one of the largest and best equipped sports and cultural venues in Shanghai.

A centrally located green oasis for the densely built surrounding residential areas, the landmark complex features multiple commercial, cultural and sport zones, including tree-lined ring-shaped running tracks, football fields, green spaces, and facilities to host table tennis, volleyball, badminton, boxing and kickboxing matches and competitions. In addition, 60,000 square meters of new underground space will offer yoga, fencing, dance programs and social activities designed to better meet the various sporting and recreational needs of the community.

Xujiahui Sports Park boasts a proud history of hosting international and national sporting events such as the 8th National Games of China, Men’s Football tournament for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the IAAF Diamond League Shanghai providing local and visiting fans with an excellent viewing experience. Located at the heart of Xujiahui Sports Park, the newly signed 13-storey Radisson Blu Hotel, Shanghai Stadium is poised to become the venue of choice for athletes.

This landmark hotel will occupy a total area of 30,323 square metres, with above-ground function spaces, stylish guest rooms from the 6th to the 12th floor, and extensive wellness facilities, including a cutting-edge fitness center, a full-service spa and a 25-metre-long indoor swimming pool with four lanes, as well as having Xujiahui Sports Park’s recreational areas such as ponds and public plazas in close proximity.

Tastefully furnished in the brand’s signature contemporary style, the hotel’s 209 guest rooms will include 136 standard rooms, 2 accessible rooms, 60 executive rooms and 11 spacious suites designed with various categories of guests in mind, from holidaymakers and athletes to conference delegates and business travelers in town on extended stays. For meetings and events, a 472-square-metre banquet hall will be complemented by a collection of smaller function rooms, while dining options will range from lobby bar and executive lounge to signature Chinese and all-day-dining restaurants.

In keeping with its mission to be an urban sports landmark, Xujiahui Sports Park is on track to offering a variety of vibrant public sports and cultural gathering areas where locals and visitors can enjoy "the atmosphere of sports, first-class events, active sport surroundings for local citizens, and pleasant green spaces", helping Shanghai become a world-renowned sports city. In this context, Radisson Hotel Group will operate and manage the newly signed hotel as a combined premium hospitality and innovative sports concept to give the city a high-end landmark with distinctive characteristics. The partnership between Radisson Hotel Group and JUSS Sports will also set a benchmark in terms of operating a sporting venue to the highest hospitality industry standards to provide a high-quality service experience for the general public.
