Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – ARCHIDEX, the 16th International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition, Malaysia (ARCHIDEX 2015), is set to return from 12-15 August 2015 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

As one of Malaysia’s largest exhibitions, ARCHIDEX is even bigger this year with an added hall at the adjacent Mandarin Oriental. Over 550 Malaysian and international will be taking up 1,300 booths sprawled across nine halls of the convention centre.

Since its introduction in 2000, ARCHIDEX enjoys phenomenal success and steady growth through strategic planning and partnerships. It is widely recognised today as a leading event that gathers Southeast Asia’s fraternity of architects, interior designers, developers, urban planners, engineers, academicians, students and various related industry professionals.

ARCHIDEX is jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia or PAM) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, a reputable Malaysian trade and lifestyle exhibitions organiser and the exhibition is held together with the annual PAM Convention, which is highly regarded as an influential platform to showcase and share the works of emerging and established local and international architects and designers.

“Asia is home to some of the world’s most innovative and intriguing architecture with many more on the horizon. Our PAM Convention consistently brings together established and avant garde architects and designers to share their work, resulting in an interesting and inspiring exchange of ideas and solutions amongst our fraternity. We are excited to be part of a constantly evolving industry and we hope to continue elevating ARCHIDEX onto even greater heights,” said PAM President Ar Mohd Zulhemlee An.

ARCHIDEX marked its milestone 15th anniversary last year with 32,000 trade and public visitors from 68 countries. The show’s success has earned ARCHIDEX a highly coveted position at the forefront of the robust architecture, design and building industry not just in Malaysia but the region. The 2015 show is aptly themed – Advancing Architecture in Asia.

ARCHIDEX is also recognised as a popular gateway into the burgeoning Southeast Asian market and an ideal platform to launch innovative new collections.

Confirmed exhibitors for this year’s show hail from 19 countries, such as Austria, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia. The exhibition categories cover nine main categories of products for the architecture, interior design and building industry, that is, window, doors and glass, kitchen and appliances, sanitaryware, roofing, tiles and stones, architectural and building materials, interior, floor and walls and eco building products.

“We are delighted to play a part in the rapid growth among our exhibitors,” said C.I.S Network President, Dato’ Vincent Lim. “We are honoured to play a pivotal role in being the platform to showcase their brands through a highly effective and visible platform for growth opportunities not just in Malaysia but the region,” he added.

In line with continuing efforts to promote a spirit of innovative excellence among exhibitors, this year’s ARCHIDEX sees a strategic repositioning of its competitive annual awards that are highly coveted industry recognition. The New Product Awards remains an acknowledgment for excellence in design and production, whereas the New Eco Product Awards will now be known as the Green Dot Award. This is aimed at strengthening the award’s identity with its exemplary environmental attributes.

A respected panel of judges will be evaluating products that are distinguished by superior design and innovation; technological advancements, and sustainability factors.

As with the previous year, ECO-B will be co-located with ARCHIDEX. This exhibition explores a growing interest in environmentally responsible buildings around the world as well as the advancements in technology and innovative solutions offered. Eco building products categories covering energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, materials and resources and advance materials will be showcased.

This four-day event will be packed with concurrent events and networking sessions with various international standard conference (DATUM:KL), forums (PPF, GBF & KLDF), trade talks (Biz@ARCHIDEX & Biz@ECO-B), exhibitor product launches, industry meetings, industry luncheon, hosted cocktails and a gala dinner (BIG).

This year also marks the start of a unique green collaboration of ARCHIDEX supporting MACEOS (Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers) together with Biji-Biji Initiative, a Malaysian social enterprise that champions sustainable living by reusing discarded materials into useful objects. C.I.S Network is a member of MACEOS and banners at ARCHIDEX will be collected to Biji-Biji Initiative to be recycled into fashionable and trendy bags! This will be launched during the exhibition opening ceremony.
