Shares Javier López Bolivar, CEO Pilsa: “We chose Dekton® by Cosentino because of its variety, durability and versatility that can be used in any space.” Led by Malaga-born chef Carlos Caballero, Pilsa Educa is home to a team of culinary experts as well as a space used for hosting business meetings, events and various culinary activities. The interior design is inspired by an industrial unit where the original metal structures and brick walls are visible within the old building. By interposing various stylistic elements with the factory-style décor, the interior spaces are visually differentiated while evoking the eternal beauty of nature. Dekton® is the choice surface for the Pilsa Hostelería Técnica design team who wanted to expand on the industrial aspect of the walls and metal structures to the floors and other elementssuch as countertops or work tables in the classrooms. Dekton® ’s wide range of colours and sizes was an offer they could not resist.

The Trilium colour, part of the Dekton® Industrial Collection, met the initial aesthetic requirements perfectly due to its unique oxidised metal appearance. The chiaroscuro contrast of its surface and its smooth texture give it an unparalleled industrial appearance. Another stand-out feature is that it is environmentally sustainable: Trilium is manufactured from up to 80% recycled materials from the Dekton® production process itself. 260 square metres of Dekton® Trilium covers the classroom floors and, as if it were one whole flowing piece of material, travels up the work tables and across the countertops, for the most seamless experience when cooking classes, events, or other culinary activities are in session.

Shares Javier López Bolivar, CEO Pilsa: “The most significant advantage for us has been that Dekton® allowed us to have flooring that gives a feeling of complete continuity due to its size. In addition, it has a design and finish that we could not have achieved with any other product. Also, it must be noted that Dekton® , due to its characteristics, requires practically zero maintenance.” Due to the vast amounts of activities that take place in the building every day, the Pilsa Educa cooking school needs materials that, in addition to being beautiful, are hard-wearing and functional in order to guarantee their durability over time – Dekton® ’s resistance to heat, cold, intense use, scratches and stains make it the perfect choice. Dekton® also allows food to be prepared and handled directly on the surface without any fear of breakage or burning, ensuring maximum hygiene and safety.

To differentiate the reception area aesthetically from the classrooms and working areas, the Pilsa Hostelería Técnica team chose to imbue it with a natural look using a large wall of grass of an intense green in contrast with the natural white mantle offered by the Dekton® surface in its Aura shade, which extends acrossthe floor and the reception desk. From the Natural Collection, the Aura shade has a white background that is enhanced by the pattern of clear and elegant grey veins that evoke natural rock formations – a tasteful design explosion that showcases the great architectural possibilities that only a material like Dekton® can offer.
